A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
